The Hilton Columbus Downtown has kicked off construction on a new, 28-story tower that will make it the largest hotel in Ohio when it opens in 2022, as well as the first 1,000-room convention hotel in Columbus. It will have 75,000 square feet of meeting space.
Designed by the architectural firm of Cooper Carry with interior design by Jeffrey Beers International, Hilton Columbus Downtown’s new tower will be 28 stories tall, and it will include 463 guest rooms and 47,000 square feet of meeting space. All meeting rooms will have natural light, with flexible space and interactive kitchens.

The tower will also include four new food and beverage outlets, including a new lobby bar and rooftop bar. There will also be a new wood-burning, open-fire concept restaurant, as well as a new grab-and-go market connected to the Greater Columbus Convention Center. A new green roof will be home to the hotel’s urban beehives and Chef Bill Glover’s garden, to provide these natural ingredients throughout the chef’s dishes.
The Hilton Columbus Downtown will remain open and operational throughout the addition of the tower. The hotel also has an enclosed skybridge connecting it to the Greater Columbus Convention Center, as well as a $1 million art collection with more than 225 original works from over 100 area artists.
