Waldorf Astoria Monarch Beach Resort & Club has announced the appointment of Jean Schulte as director of sales with a focus on group and incentive sales. Bringing over 30 years of hospitality expertise, Schulte will provide strategic business development to position the recently refreshed Southern California property as a leader in the region.
In addition to 30,000 square feet of indoor meeting spaces and 80,000 square feet of lush outdoor venues, Schulte will introduce Waldorf Astoria Monarch Beach Resort & Club’s newest event space, Avalon, which just debuted this month. The indoor-outdoor venue has a spacious covered terrace, hardscaped fire pits and an expansive wall of accordion glass doors.
“Jean’s accomplished career in the incentive travel industry will propel our iconic destination into a new season of growth,” said George Munz, general manager of Waldorf Astoria Monarch Beach Resort & Club. “Her keen eye for luxury service will elevate our overall guest experience, as we continue to welcome the world’s most discerning business travelers and meeting planners.”
A hospitality veteran, Schulte has grown her career both within Orange County and beyond. Most recently, she was the director of group sales and incentive at Turtle Bay Resort where she helped reposition the iconic Oahu resort after a $300 million renovation.
Prior to that, Schulte served as the director of Midwest and incentive sales at The Resort at Pelican Hill and has worked in senior level sales roles for Preferred Hotels & Resorts and KSL Resorts over the course of her career.
