Sheraton Minneapolis Downtown Expands Leadership Team

Sheraton Hotels & Resorts has announced additions to the leadership team at the soon-to-open Sheraton Minneapolis Downtown Convention Center. Formerly the Millennium Minneapolis, the property set on the site of the historic Capp Towers Motor Hotel will debut this spring following a $40 million renovation. The opening team includes General Manager Austin Tyler-Thull and Michelle Eng, director of sales & marketing.

Tyler-Thull has more than a decade of experience in the hospitality industry, having worked with hotels and brands in Minnesota. He joined Aimbridge Hospitality in 2016 and has held various roles at TownePlace Suites, Spring Hill Suites, Hampton Inn, Hilton Garden Inn, Holiday Inn Express and Aimbridge Corporate. In 2023, he was promoted to general manager of Millennium Minneapolis. Currently, Tyler-Thull is overseeing the multimillion-dollar transformation of the Millennium property into the Sheraton Minneapolis Downtown. He is a board member of Hospitality Minnesota Education Foundation and is actively involved in multiple community associations.

Michelle Eng, director of sales and marketing, has been a fixture of Minneapolis’ hospitality industry for over two decades. She began her career as a front desk agent at the Radisson Hotel Bloomington, before being promoted to several other roles at the property. Prior to joining Millennium Minneapolis in 2022, Eng served as director of sales for Moxy Uptown Minneapolis and was tapped to be the director of sales for Moxy Downtown during the opening. Her prior hotel experience includes roles at two Hilton properties in Bloomington, and she was also part of the sales team during Embassy Suites Bloomington’s full-scale renovation.
