San Diego Appoints National Sales Director for Southeast Region

The San Diego Tourism Authority (SDTA) has announced the appointment of April Anderson as national sales director for the Southeast region. Anderson will play a key role in promoting and selling San Diego as a preferred destination for hotel meetings in key states including Florida, Georgia, Tennessee and the Carolinas.

With more than 25 years of industry experience, Anderson most recently served as a senior sales manager at Access DMC, where she opened the Atlanta office and was recognized as a top 10 sales producer. Anderson spent 13 years in San Diego, most of which were spent in group sales at the Marriott Marquis San Diego Marina and Coronado Island Marriott Resort and Spa after starting her hospitality career at the Sheraton San Diego Hotel & Marina.

“Anderson’s diverse background in hotels, global sales, meetings and events will be invaluable as we continue to promote 'America’s Brightest City' in a key region for our hotel meetings business,” said Letty Canizalez, vice president of sales at SDTA.

The SDTA is a private, non-profit, mutual benefit corporation composed of approximately 1,000 member organizations, businesses, local governments, and individuals seeking a better community through the visitor industry. Members of the SDTA include tourism-related entities in such categories as lodging, dining, arts, attractions, shopping and transportation, among others, as well as other companies indirectly involved in tourism.
