JW Marriott San Antonio Hill Country Resort & Spa has promoted Vince Waddill as the director of event management. In his new position, Waddill will be responsible for overseeing the event management and event operations teams, as well as acting as a facilitator with key hotel partners.
Since 2015, Waddill has served the role of director of event planning at the resort. He began his career with Marriott in 1990 at the JW Marriott Desert Springs Resort and Spa as a banquet server and soon became a senior banquet captain. In 1997, he relocated to San Diego and served as the senior banquet manager, opening the Coronado Island Marriott Resort and Spa. While in San Diego, he transitioned into event planning as an event manager. In 2002, Waddill relocated to San Antonio and served as the senior banquet manager at the Marriott Rivercenter and Riverwalk Hotels where he later took on the role of event manager. He then worked as director of Knibbe Ranch before joining JW Marriott San Antonio Hill Country Resort & Spa.
He has held the professional designation of Certified Meeting Professional since 2005 as well as Certified Tourism Ambassador of San Antonio,
