Hyatt Regency Jacksonville Riverfront has announced the promotion of Josh Hoce to director of group sales. In his new role, Hoce will focus on securing large group bookings while mentoring his team and driving innovative business strategies. With nearly 20 years of experience working in sales and hospitality, Hoce has excelled in management and leadership roles throughout his career.
In 2009, Hoce moved to Jacksonville and began working with SMG Worldwide Entertainment & Convention Venue Management. In that role, he conducted sales tours, responded to RFPs, planned and managed large-scale events, and served as the event manager on duty at EverBank Stadium during NFL games. He then advanced to roles such as national sales manager of Renaissance World Golf Village Resort in St. Augustine and national account manager with Visit Jacksonville, where he managed key markets such as medical, corporate and associations throughout the Mid-Atlantic, Northeast, West Coast and Canada.
In 2018, Hoce joined Hyatt Regency Jacksonville Riverfront as associate director of sales where he saw great success ensuring group business at the property, even finding unique ways to host groups in a “bubble” style setting during the COVID-19 pandemic, which allowed the hotel to remain open and fully-operational. He continued to see success throughout the years, and increased his quota by 142 percent in 2023 alone.
In his new role as director of group sales, Hoce’s primary responsibilities include leading the sales team, mentoring team members, and developing strategic initiatives to achieve and surpass group and leisure travel revenue goals. He aims to support the team in building genuine client relationships ensuring that groups have seamless experiences from the initial proposal to the final billing process. Hoce will also increase his involvement in site visits and continue to foster strong connections with groups nationwide.
