Global DMC Partners (GDP) has announced the latest in its GDP University offerings. GDP University is a complimentary online learning platform that offers a range of courses for professionals in the event, meeting and travel industry. These include the basics of planning a meeting or event, learning about the newest global trends such as event tech and sustainability, and more.
The next session will be “How to Negotiate in an Age of Non-Negotiation,” held September 24 at 11:30 am EST. In today’s landscape, negotiation can feel like a one-sided conversation. As the market currently favors suppliers, planners are facing more rigid terms and fewer concessions. This webinar, complete with a panel of experts representing hotels, A/V, planners and DMCs, will provide practical strategies for navigating these challenges. Participants will dive into current trends in contract negotiations and discuss how to protect budgets while ensuring a fair deal for both parties.
Attendees of the webinar can:
- Discover key negotiation points that are always open for discussion in a supplier’s market
- Learn tactics to safeguard budgets and mitigate risk in future contracts
- Creative win-win solutions that cater to both planners’ and vendors’ needs
- Gain insights into the evolving landscape of contract negotiation from industry leaders
The webinar’s panelists include: Catherine Chaulet, CEO and president, Global DMC Partners; Norma Howard, complex director of group sales, Conrad Punta de Mita and Hilton Los Cabos; Braedan Quigley, director of sales and marketing, Grand Hyatt Baha Mar; Matthew Bryne, president and executive producer, Byrne Production Services; Matt Franks, director of events, DRPG Group; Becky Cavanaugh, program director, global medical meetings and events, Cadent powered by Syneos Health; Erin Lipman, national sales director, Destination Concepts, Inc.; and Paolo Teruzzi, owner, CTI Corporate Travel & Incentives.
Additional upcoming sessions in the GDP University lineup include:
- New Hotels and New Venues Around the World (October 30) – This session will showcase the hotels and venues that have recently opened around the globe and what’s coming soon across different global markets. The goal of this session will be to highlight why these venues are a great fit for MICE programs to inspire event professionals as they plan their future programs.

Participants can expect to hear from peers on how they use A.I., what works for them, their tips and best-practices, and leave with some ideas and ways they can get started with it immediately to help increase their day-to-day efficiency.
- 2025 Industry Trends (January 2025) – Using insights and data from the latest “GDP Meetings & Events Pulse Survey” results, this session will highlight the current key industry trends and how they are impacting planners and the industry at large.
