South Florida luxury resort The Boca Raton has announced the appointment of Rob Cameron as director of group sales. In this role, Cameron will oversee the group sales team to maximize group and event revenue while driving occupancy. The Boca Raton has recently undergone a complete transformation, encompassing five hotels and 200,000 square feet of flexible meeting space. The property recently received double Forbes Five-Star awards for its oceanfront hotel, Beach Club and Spa Palmera.
Most recently, Cameron was a hospitality consultant in Palm Beach where he deployed his expertise to hotel owners, brands and property staff. Previously, he was regional director of sales and marketing at TPG Hotels & Resorts, during which time he opened two lifestyle properties, spearheaded sales and marketing for 12 hotel renovations, and developed the company’s online training program.
Before that, Cameron was California-based as general manager at Kimpton Solamar Hotel San Diego, and director of sales and marketing at the Manchester Grand Hyatt San Diego. While with Hyatt, his team achieved top accolades: Director of Sales of the year, Sales Team of the year, Marketing hotel of the year, and Cameron was recognized as Hotel Person of the Year by the California Society of Association Executives. Cameron also served on the sales and marketing board of the San Diego Visitors and Convention Bureau.
