GBTA Shares Updates on Convention 2020

Over the past few months, the Global Business Travel Association (GBTA) staff and leadership has considered "every option possible" to proceed with the association’s 2020 Convention set for November in Denver, CO; however, with the COVID-19 pandemic continuing to spike globally and the Denver Convention Center dedicated to a temporary medical facility, the convention center cannot be made available for November dates and, so, they had to cancel the event.

"One of the unfortunate realities of this pandemic and its many accompanying challenges has been its outsized impact on business travel and our industry worldwide," GBTA said in an announcement. "We, too, had looked forward to reconnecting this year at GBTA Convention 2020, to draw strength from one another and to share best practices and creative, collaborative ideas for how to succeed in such an unprecedented and challenging environment."

Adding further, GBTA said, "In the next few days, we will communicate with you on the GBTA 2021 Convention, set for July 17 to July 21, 2021 in Orlando."

Thanking its members, GBTA said, "We thank you for your continued support of GBTA. Each of you represents the heart and soul of this association. These are indeed difficult times, but together we will emerge not merely intact, but better than at any time in the past."
