Bonnie Carlson Inducted Into Destinations International Hall of Fame

Bonnie Carlson, president and CEO of the Bloomington, Minnesota Convention and Visitors Bureau, will be inducted into the Destinations International Hall of Fame this week. This designation is the highest honor that Destinations International can bestow and will be presented during the organization’s virtual conference. Carlson was the second female chair of Destinations International’s board of directors when the organization was known as the International Association of Convention & Visitors Bureaus.

Carlson has been in her role at the Bloomington Convention and Visitors Bureau (CVB) for over 35 years and has been involved with the travel and tourism industry for over 45 years. In addition to her position as president and CEO of the CVB, she is a member U.S. Travel Association’s board of directors and is the finance chair of Meeting Professionals International’s board of directors. She also remains active with the American Society of Association Executives, Professional Convention Management Association and Destinations International.

“I am honored to be recognized by my colleagues and to be inducted into the DI Hall of Fame,” said Carlson is a press statement. “I have loved my career in this industry and remain passionate about the work that destination marketing organizations do around the world. Thank you to DI for this recognition.”

The Hall of Fame induction is just one of a number of awards and recognition that Carlson has received over the years. She is also a member of the Minnesota Meetings + Events Hall of Fame and the Hospitality Minnesota Association Hall of Fame, and has been the recipient of Minnesota Meetings + EventsLifetime Achievement Award, Explore Minnesota Tourism’s Excellence in Tourism Award and Outstanding Individual in Tourism Award, and Sales and Marketing ExecutivesWoman of the Year Award.
