The Westin's 289-key hotel within the 300-acre mixed-use Memorial City development in Houston, TX, has announced the completion of a multimillion-dollar renovation of its 33,000-square-foot meeting and event venues.
Located on the second, third and fourth floors and redesigned by Carolyn Auger of Atlanta-based interior design firm Blackdog Studio, the venues now showcase a contemporary aesthetic with new wallpaper, carpet, light fixtures, furniture, artwork and curtains. The custom carpet’s design draws inspiration from Houston’s history as an oil and gas hub, its proximity to the Gulf Coast and interconnected waterways. Houston-based DPR Construction served as the project’s contractor.
The Westin’s Memorial City outpost offers 33,000 square feet of versatile event space across 29 meeting rooms. One of its anchor spaces, the 10,425-square-foot Azalea Ballroom, is a popular choice among wedding and corporate event planners as it can host over 1,000 guests. All of the event spaces are equipped with high-speed Wi-Fi, updated audiovisual services and customizable menu options.
The Westin’s Memorial City location is immediately accessible via I-10 off of Gessner Road and is within 30 miles of George Bush Intercontinental Airport and Hobby Airport. The hotel’s central positioning within Memorial City offers guests proximity to Memorial City Mall, Memorial Hermann Memorial City Medical Center and an assortment of destination-worthy dining options.
The Westin’s renovations continue MetroNational’s investment strategy to provide premier services and amenities to its tenants and guests. Recent additions to the MetroNational campus include Haywire, a Texas-inspired restaurant spanning 20,000 square feet across two stories. Haywire will soon open its 2,000-square-foot party barn, designed to seat over 100 guests with its own bar and is strategically positioned next to The Westin for private event opportunities. In addition to Haywire, Memorial City is home to Levi Goode’s inaugural standalone concepts Credence and Sidebar, and Sambrooks Hospitality’s Central Texas-style barbecue concept, The Pit Room.
