Westin Hotels & Resorts has announced the opening of The Westin Yokohama in Japan. The 373-key hotel is located southwest of Tokyo in Yokohama, a key port in Japan—having evolved from a small fishing town to a modern city, as well as a commercial powerhouse in the country.
The Westin Yokohama is located in the new central business district of Yokohama, Minato Mirai, offering easy access to popular attractions such as Japan’s largest Chinatown and the Sankeien Garden. The Tokyo Haneda Airport is within a 25-minute drive and Tokyo City Center is within a 36-minute train ride from the hotel.
Situated on the 23rd floor with views towards Mount Fuji, the lobby sports an indoor garden with lighting representing sunlight streaming through trees, as an expression of the Japanese philosophy of shinrin yoku, also known as "forest bathing." In the heart of the lobby, the fireplace evokes a sense of homecoming. The guestrooms have floor-to-ceiling windows that frame the cityscapes of Yokohama. The bathrooms are fitted with rain showers and include the brand’s signature White Tea aloe bath amenities, extra-large bath towels and plush bathrobes.
The hotel is home to five F&B outlets. Brasserie du Quai is an all-day restaurant inspired by French seaside towns; Kissui-sen is an izakaya-style restaurant; Iron Bay is the hotel’s signature restaurant that offers a menu with all things grilled to order; Sugar Merchant serves coffees, teas and pastries; and Code Bar offers a range of craft cocktails and artisanal mocktails.
The hotel also has a dedicated wellness floor of over 10,000 square feet, including a Heavenly Spa by Westin with four treatment rooms and a range of relaxing and rejuvenating spa treatments. Other facilities include a heated indoor swimming pool and the signature WestinWORKOUT Fitness Studio. A local RunWESTIN program provides jogging maps that offer a choice of either a three- or five-mile route around the Minato Mirai waterfront area.
The Westin Yokohama offers over 11,000 square feet of indoor and outdoor event space including a nearly 5,000-square-foot Grand Ballroom; The Westin Garden, a signature outdoor event space; and four meeting spaces.
