The Tampa Airport Marriott has completed a multimillion-dollar renovation of its meeting and event spaces. The 298-room property, located inside Tampa International Airport, originally opened in 1973 and will be celebrating its 50th anniversary in 2023, GM Scott McClinton said in a statement.
The hotel has 25,416 square feet of meeting and event space, including 17 meeting rooms, the largest of which is the 7,446-square-foot Hillsborough Grand Ballroom that can accommodate up to 700 people.
McClinton said the renovation encompassed a completely new look with a design concept created by CRA Design of Los Angeles. The goal was to create a social club connection combining conversation, collaboration and common connection. The color palette uses predominantly grays, blues and browns and incorporates curved forms, open colonnades and natural woven materials.
Specific enhancements include new carpet, vinyl and paint; new meeting room tables and chairs as well as pre-function furniture. Other features include LED lighting throughout as well as radio frequency ID door locks for enhanced security.
