Located in White Plains, NY, Sonesta White Plains Downtown has unveiled the completion of its property-wide renovation. Designed by Bill Rooney Studios, the project encompassed 403 guestrooms and suites, social spaces, a new Sonesta Work Suite, a new restaurant and lobby bar, and nearly 20,000 square feet of flexible meeting and event space.
The hotel’s refreshed lobby reflects energetic design and a warm atmosphere. Each guestroom and suite is "residential in scale." Dining experiences include the new restaurant Whisk, which welcomes both hotel guests and locals alike for breakfast and dinner daily; Mix Cocktail Bar + Kitchen, which offers cocktails and mocktails, complemented by a menu of small bites that can be enjoyed in front of the fireplace or at the bar; and Lobby Café, which serves hot beverages and breakfast items.
The hotel’s meeting and event spaces include 17 standalone meeting venues, common areas with refreshed décor and a new Sonesta Work Suite: a new experiential, multi-zone meeting space concept. The Work Suite is available for hourly rentals by guests. Clients will have access to audiovisual equipment and services as well as a convention services and catering team during their stay. The largest venue is the Plaza Ballroom at 5,940 square feet, which can accommodate up to 800 guests, followed by the 1,452-square-foot Pleasantville Room, which features a private outdoor heated terrace, and can accommodate up to 90 guests.
The hotel is situated steps from top landmarks and shops, including Bloomingdale’s and a range of retail stores at The Westchester Mall. New York City is a 30-minute train ride away, allowing guests to explore both the Hudson River Valley and the "Big Apple." Only seven miles from Westchester County Airport, the hotel welcomes business and leisure travelers alike and extends a welcome to pets through the PAWS (Pets Are Welcome At Sonesta) program.
