SkyBeach Resort, a newly refreshed beachfront retreat located on the southern tip of St. Petersburg, FL, has unveiled its renovated SkyBeach Event Center, a 6,260-square-foot coastal-inspired venue for weddings, meetings and special celebrations. The unveiling is part of the resort’s ongoing revitalization, which also includes a redesigned lobby, the opening of Paradeco Coffee Roasters and the forthcoming SouthSeas Tapas, a new dining concept.
Following its acquisition by Willner Realty & Development Co. in 2022, SkyBeach Resort reopened in July 2024 after extensive renovations. The addition of the SkyBeach Event Center is expted to position the resort as one of the region’s preferred venues for weddings, meetings and private events.
Several rooms are equipped with built-in projectors and customizable, color-changing LED lighting that can be programmed to match the theme of each event. The lighting system can also sync with music to create a fully immersive guest experience. Guests can access the event center from the resort’s main lobby or via a separate exterior entrance. The layout includes a lobby/pre-function area spanning 544 square feet, a Grand Ballroom spanning 4,228 square feet, and the 1,488-square-foot Coral Cove. Additionally, the ballroom can be divided into three smaller spaces: Banyan Tree (2,162 square feet); Royal Palm (1,156 square feet); and Ocean Breeze (910 square feet).
The resort spans 18 acres and also offers a variety of flexible outdoor event spaces, including:
- Ovation Pavilion (1,998 square feet) – This open-air venue is ideal for corporate events or social gatherings
- Private beach (24,928 square feet) – This setting for large-scale events features Tampa Bay as the backdrop
- SkyBar + Grille (2,450 square feet) – This two-level open-air restaurant offers panoramic bay views and a backdrop of the Sunshine Skyway Bridge (each level can be reserved separately)
- South Beach (22,057 square feet) – This exclusive outdoor venue offers a relaxed coastal ambiance
- The Groove - Lawn & Shuffleboard Courts (3,321 square feet) – This lawn space is ideal for casual gatherings, team-building events and outdoor activities
- Fire Pits (2,400 square feet) – This cozy setting is ideal for small receptions or post-event gatherings
SkyBeach Resort’s recent renovation projects join a lineup of amenities, including SouthSide Sports, an outdoor recreation center with pickleball, beach volleyball and tennis courts; a marina with 29 boat slips; and the Azibi Stage, a beachfront entertainment venue and community gathering place.
