San Diego’s Hotel del Coronado Unveils Boutique Meetings Program

San Diego’s Hotel del Coronado, Curio Collection by Hilton, has announced the launch of its “Plan With Ease: Boutique Meetings” program, which provides access to a variety of venues and curated activities.

To streamline the planning process for groups of 60 or less, "The Del’s" boutique meetings specialist, Kathleen Donley, will leverage the “Plan With Ease: Boutique Meetings” program to offer simplified contracting, allowing organizers to focus on the content and experience of their event. The hotel’s events team will execute every aspect of the event, from start to finish. The “Plan With Ease: Boutique Meetings” program focuses on a range of venues and group activities.

Nestled within the resort are two gated neighborhoods, Beach Village at The Del and Shore House at The Del, each providing a boutique experience ideal for small group programs. Beach Village at The Del is a collection of beachfront cottages and villas. It offers residential-style accommodations, pools and personalized service. Shore House at The Del offers seaside villas, a private pool and restaurant.

Small groups can choose from several venues for intimate brainstorming sessions and presentations, including Power Plant, which was built in 1887 to provide power to The Del and all of Coronado Island. This historic building has been carefully restored and transformed into a co-working space with multiple breakout rooms. Additionally, The Del’s private Main Beach offers a setting ideal for receptions, dining and team-building activities.

Groups can have a behind-the-scenes look at The Del’s heritage with an event held inside the Ice House Museum or outdoors in the adjacent al fresco Legacy Court. The Coronet Room, with its floor-to-ceiling windows and crown chandelier, is also ideal for intimate events.

The resort’s group recreation team can organize and execute a range of team-building activities. These include:

  • Roast – Bonfires on the beach have been a favorite tradition at The Del, and now they are available for private groups. The experience includes up to 10 chairs per fire pit, unlimited s’mores and bottled water
  • Yoga on the Beach – Groups can revitalize the mind through yoga flows that increase muscle tone, improve flexibility and reduce stress
  • The Salsa Challenge – This activity offers a blend of teamwork, competition and creativity. Teams are tasked with creating a one-of-a-kind salsa (or salsas) and delivering a make-it-or break-it sales pitch
  • Jamie O’Brien Surf Experience – As the first and only surf school by Jamie O’Brien on the mainland, beginners can learn how to surf on the gentle waves of Coronado Island.
  • Operation Care Package – Individually or as teams, guests sort through, organize and package essential supplies and treats to send to our men and women serving overseas in the military.
