Royal Orchid Sheraton Riverside Hotel Bangkok, situated on the banks of the Chao Phraya River, has unveiled a comprehensive renovation project. Notably, its newly transformed MICE facilities are sprawled across an entire floor spanning nearly 30,140 square feet comprising 22 meeting spaces and two ballrooms.
The Royal Orchid Sheraton Ballroom offers a 72-foot-long LED screen and can host up to 1,150 people. Alternatively, the flexible Riverside Ballroom can cater for up to 320 delegates or be divided into multiple smaller sections. A series of meeting rooms—Pompadour, Catteleya, Calanthe, Ayaret, Vanda and Panisea—can host sessions for between 12 and 150 guests, including business meetings, team training, product launches, media briefings and more. Waterfront terraces also provide the backdrop for photo shoots, cocktail receptions and celebratory events.
With a total of 726 rooms and suites, all of which frame river views, the hotel can accommodate entire groups under one roof. Culinary options include Thara Thong, the Thai restaurant; Giorgio’s, the Italian trattoria; Siam Yacht Club, the riverside restaurant; and Feast, famed for its Sunday brunch. Wellness facilities include a tropical garden and resort-style pool, a tennis court, jogging track, fitness center and the Mandara Spa, which has river views from each treatment room.
Good to know: Meeting planners can now “Connect Responsibly” at Royal Orchid Sheraton Riverside Hotel Bangkok, in line with Marriott Bonvoy Events’ new sustainable MICE program. Every event hosted at the hotel will be provided with a “Meeting Impact Report” to track their emissions, which can then be offset by purchasing carbon credits for a range of environmental projects in association with Marriott’s partner, South Pole. Organizers can implement measures to tackle water usage, food waste, plastics and emissions.
The commitment to sustainability has helped the hotel achieve a series of honors, including Green Key certification and the ASEAN MICE Venue Standard, which was created by the Association of South East Asian Nations to ensure the consistent quality of meeting products and protect the region’s natural and cultural resources. These certificates form part of Marriott International’s global Sustainability and Social Impact Goals, which include global targets to reduce water use by 15 percent, carbon intensity by 30 percent, waste to landfill by 45 percent, and food waste by 50 percent by 2025, as the company progresses towards net-zero emissions by 2050.
The hotel additionally offers a regular shuttle boat service to transport guests to the ICONSIAM mall and BTS SkyTrain station. For international visitors, Bangkok’s Suvarnabhumi and Don Mueang Airports are both easily accessible via the city’s elevated expressways.
