The Ritz-Carlton Reynolds, Lake Oconee in Georgia and Reynolds Outfitters have announced the launch of two new experiences at Sandy Creek Sporting Grounds: the Aerial Adventure Course and Falconry. These additions further enhance the resort’s existing array of group and team-building activities, complementing existing favorites like sporting clays, off-roading, archery and more.
The new Aerial Adventure Course invites groups to embark on a journey through the treetops, reaching heights of 30 feet. The course integrates with the natural environment and utilizes the Kanopeo Saferoller Continuous Belay System for safety. Four distinct adventure paths cater to different experience levels:
- Green – Perfect for groups seeking a less intense introduction to aerial adventures, this level has low-to-the-ground elements focusing on balance
- Blue – A medium-level course that encourages collaboration and communication as teams navigate elevated obstacles and rope crossings, testing agility and coordination
- Orange – Perfect for adventurers seeking a moderate challenge, this course introduces more complex elements and encourages skill development, preparing them for the more demanding course ahead.
- Red – Designed for groups seeking a challenge, this level boasts high-altitude elements and demanding obstacles that will push limits and foster a sense of accomplishment.
The course includes 18 obstacles and five zip lines, as well as the Barrel Crossing, which challenges participants to work together to navigate wine barrels moving in different directions. The Bosun Swings obstacle presents another unique opportunity for teamwork as its uneven rope lengths require coordinated effort to cross a suspended platform. The course culminates in an exhilarating zip line, allowing participants to soar through the trees and celebrate their achievements with views of the surrounding landscape.
The Falconry experience offers a unique opportunity to learn about the ancient sport with experienced falconers. Guests can watch hawks fly free and return to a guide for food; get an up-close look at several species of hawks, falcons and owls; and enjoy a discussion on the history of falconry. Leading the Falconry experience is Linda Spence, a member of the Reynolds Outfitters team. With a deep love of nature and extensive expertise in falconry, Spence brings a wealth of knowledge to her role. The experience culminates with each participant wearing a falconry glove and being photographed with a trained bird.
