Omni Hotels & Resorts has officially broken ground and construction is underway on Omni Pontoque Resort at Punta de Mita, the brand’s first luxury resort in Mexico. Set to open in late 2026, Omni has assembled a seasoned design team to bring this concept to life, including Bob Glazier, HKS Architects, Farouki Farouki, Girvin Associates, and Waldrop + Nichols, with The Beck Group managing construction.
The resort’s exterior and interiors will pay homage to the local culture with a contemporary twist. “As our first property in Mexico, the development of Omni Pontoque marks an especially exciting milestone in our company’s history,” said Kurt Alexander, president of Omni Hotels & Resorts.
Omni Pontoque Resort at Punta de Mita will comprise 244 guestrooms and suites, plus two four-bedroom villas with views of the Bay of Banderas. The beachfront resort will also offer three restaurant concepts, a destination spa with 14 treatment rooms, two retail shops, multiple pools including adults-only and family-friendly options, an indoor and outdoor fitness center, and a children’s club.
Offering more than 27,000 square feet of meeting and event space, Omni Pontoque Resort at Punta de Mita will have a ballroom spanning 6,000 square feet, an open-air pavilion, multiple event lawns and dedicated meeting rooms, all of which provide ocean views.
