Located in the Allegheny Mountains of southwestern Virginia and spanning over 2,300 acres, The Omni Homestead Resort has reopened following a $150-plus million property-wide renovation project. The project began in October 2021 with the rehabilitation of the Warm Springs Pools, which reopened in December 2022. The full renovation encompasses 483 guestrooms, a new 4,000-square-foot event pavilion, 72,000 square feet of meeting space, an array of fine and casual dining options and more.
The resort’s iconic Warm Springs Pools underwent a 14-month, $4.6 million rehabilitation process that preserved as much of the historic structure as possible. Fed by four natural warm springs, the 19th century bathhouses have been sought after by travelers from around the world. The stone basin of the Gentlemen’s Bathhouse was constructed in 1761, making it the first spa structure in country.
Separately, "tailored comfort" is the theme and inspiration for the 483 newly renovated guestrooms. Each wing sports a distinct color palette (pink, blue, lavender, and green) that flows from the hallway corridors into the rooms.
Guests can additionally wine and dine at a variety of F&B venues, including the new Pioneer Picnic, a fast-casual dining experience with a wrap-around porch on the lawn. Martha’s Market, the property’s grab-and-go café offers signature Stances Coffee and Homestead Creamery ice cream. At the Presidential Lounge, a new speakeasy-style bar, guests can sip on drinks over a game of pool. Notable spots such as Jefferson’s Taproom and Restaurant, Rubino’s at The Cascades and the American Audubon Dining Room also have refreshed designs.
First completed in 1923, the Theater received a refresh, as well. The multi-functional space offers a prohibition-style cocktail bar and convertible, dinner theater-style seating setting the stage for events ranging from movie screenings to musical performances to TED Talks and magic shows.
The updated Great Hall now sports custom-designed carpeting, classic hardwood floors and elegant lighting. The Omni Homestead offers 12 wedding venues. Most notably, the 4,000-square-foot Old Course Pavilion with a capacity of 225 guests offers views of the Tower, and East and West Wings. The newly enhanced Crystal Room has chandeliers; original wall sconces enhance the décor of the Empire Room; the Regency Ballroom is completely transformed, with new carpeting and backlit faux clerestory windows; and the Grand Ballroom has been updated with textured wallcoverings and light fixtures. Significant updates to each of the 28 meeting rooms include refinished wood floors, new carpeting, furniture, wallcoverings, acoustic ceiling tiles, furniture and light fixtures.
The resort also houses a spa with an adults-only Serenity Garden and two championship golf courses including The Cascades. Seasonal attractions such as a ski area, Equestrian Center, Shooting Club, falconry and mountain biking trails offer activities for the whole family.
