Study Hotels has announced the expansion of its portfolio with the opening of The Study at Johns Hopkins. This is the fourth hotel in the collection, alongside The Study at Yale in New Haven, CT; The Study at University City in Philadelphia, PA; and The Study at University of Chicago in Chicago, IL.
Located at the main gate of Johns Hopkins University’s Homewood Campus, on the corner of 33rd and North Charles Street, the hotel is located in North Baltimore’s historic Charles Village neighborhood. It is the first and only hotel located on the university’s Homewood Campus. The Study at Johns Hopkins offers 115 guestrooms and suites designed in collaboration with Hospitality 3, DIGSAU Architects and 15 Moreland Design Studio. Rooms are equipped with all the amenities Study Hotels is known for—a leather reading chair, writing desks, comfortable bedding and large operable windows for prospective students, alumni and visitors.
The hotel’s public space, which is referred to as the “Living Room,” is furnished with a mix of transitional furniture with natural fabrics and accents. Large bookcases, a hallmark of Study Hotels’ Living Rooms, showcase lifestyle topics for casual reading and books by Johns Hopkins University authors, scholars and alumni. The space includes an art gallery with work by students and local artists on a rotating basis. Good to know: The hotel has 2,500 square feet of private meeting space, as well as a fitness center.
The Study at Johns Hopkins offers on-site dining at Dear Charles, a regionally inspired restaurant on the ground floor. Influenced by the bounty of the Mid-Atlantic, the outlet serves elevated yet familiar menu items, complemented by a beverage program. The 85-seat restaurant is open seven days a week for breakfast, lunch and dinner, with walk-ins and reservations welcome.
