Marriott Marquis San Diego Marina Revamps Meeting Spaces

Marriott Marquis San Diego Marina has announced the completion of a multimillion-dollar renovation and expansion of its 81 meeting spaces. The newly transformed meeting spaces include 270,000 square feet of refreshed ballrooms, conference rooms and pre-function areas. From cutting-edge, color-changing lighting to seamless integration with the hotel’s recently updated guestrooms and lobby, the enhancements elevate the guest experience and set the stage for diverse events by the bay.

Furthering its commitment to guest well-being and environmental responsibility, Marriott Marquis San Diego Marina incorporates advanced eco-friendly initiatives in its operations. The updated meeting spaces now utilize an indoor air quality management system and low-flow plumbing fixtures that reduce water use by 36 percent. Other details include 100 percent recycled napkins, post-consumer waste paper goods and responsibly sourced catering ingredients.

Additionally, the hotel participates in Marriott’s "Connect Responsibly" program. This initiative empowers event planners to measure and reduce their carbon footprint through meeting impact reporting and optional carbon offset projects. Upon the event’s conclusion, planners are presented with a recap that provides personalized metrics and insights into the environmental efforts and initiatives that went into their program—a tangible measure of commitment for groups to utilize on their sustainability journey.

With a prime bayfront location, Marriott Marquis San Diego Marina prioritizes environmental stewardship and enhances travel experiences for business and leisure guests through sustainable practices. The hotel is certified by the Clean Marinas California Program, a collaboration of private marina owners, government marina operators, and yacht clubs dedicated to maintaining eco-friendly facilities and safeguarding California’s coastal and inland waters from pollution.

Located adjacent to the San Diego Convention Center and within walking distance to Seaport Village, the Gaslamp Quarter and Petco Park, the hotel offers 1,366 guestrooms and suites, expert planning and catering services, state-of-the-art business amenities and an ideal location near top city attractions.
