Marriott Columbia Unveils Renovated Guestrooms and Suites

Marriott Columbia has announced that it has completed a renovation of its guestrooms and suites. The hotel’s 300 guestrooms, including the Governor’s Suite, Parlor Suites, Junior Suites and Balcony Suites have received a top-to-bottom renovation and sport new furniture and furnishings.

The guestrooms and suites offer city views, besides views of Boyd Park at the Columbia Museum of Art, Arsenal Hall and Historic Main Street. The color palette is neutral with pops of rich blue and gray, juxtaposing natural wood and metal with contemporary designs and curated artistic focal points.

Each guestroom also has convenient wall outlets, lamp outlets and nightstands outfitted with USB ports for multiple electronic devices; luxurious bedding with cotton-rich linens and fluffy pillows; Wi-Fi and a large desk with a well-lit workspace, comfortable chair and plug-in panels; a 50-inch flat-panel TV with the Marriott Entertainment Package, including premium cable and movie channels; in-room coffee bar; and strategically placed mirrors, including a back-lit vanity mirror and full-length mirrors.

Marriott Columbia offers Southern American cuisine in its Midlands restaurant and adjoining lounge. It has 24,000 square feet of flexible meeting and event spaces that accommodate groups ranging from five to 800 persons.

Marriott Columbia offers three concierge levels and a Concierge Lounge. Concierge level guests enjoy turn-down service (upon request) and access to the Concierge Lounge on the 14th floor, which includes expanded continental breakfast and evening hors d’oeuvres, desserts and bar service.

The hotel has implemented health guidelines and safety measures, including the option for a contactless stay; social events designed to allow for social distancing; restrictions on fitness center capacity; housekeeping access to guestrooms; and thorough cleaning and sanitation protocols throughout the property.

Owned and managed by Columbia Sussex, the hotel is located on Main Street in the heart of downtown Columbia, which encompasses a 36-block area. It is minutes from the Riverbanks Zoo and Garden, Bull Street Stadium and historic homes. Other landmarks include the University of South Carolina, Colonial Life Arena, Township Auditorium and Columbia Museum of Art.
