Manchester Grand Hyatt San Diego to Undergo Renovation for 2025-26

Manchester Grand Hyatt San Diego has announced a comprehensive renovation, scheduled to begin in early 2025 and executed in phases through winter 2026. The project encompasses all 1,628 guestrooms and suites; more than 320,000 square feet of indoor and outdoor meeting space; multiple dining venues, including Sally’s and the Top of the Hyatt; and recreational spaces like the sports court and two rooftop pool decks.

The guestroom and suite transformation will unfold in two phases, with the Seaport Tower targeting completion in winter 2025, followed by the Harbor Tower in summer 2026.

Refreshed signature dining venue Sally’s will debut in March 2025. The open-air, waterfront concept serves Baja Med-inspired cuisine, complemented by specialty mezcal and tequila cocktails plus regional wines. Located on the hotel’s 40th floor, Top of the Hyatt will close for renovations in late 2025, reopening by early 2026. In addition, Market One will transform with expanded retail offerings and improved traffic flow, while Seaview Restaurant will refine its breakfast experience with sustainably sourced local and regional specialties.

The property’s recreational spaces will be completely renovated, as well, to offer an elevated resort experience. This includes the two rooftop pool decks overlooking the harbor and city skyline. Good to know: A full-service adult pool with craft cocktails and engaging programming will debut on the third floor in winter 2025, followed by a refreshed family pool on the fourth floor in winter 2026. Enhanced facilities include updated sports courts and a state-of-the-art fitness center by mid-2026.

The property’s meeting and event spaces will undergo a complete redesign, anchored by the centerpiece Harbor and Seaport Ballrooms, blending seaside design with next-generation technology, such as enterprise-grade Wi-Fi and integrated audiovisual systems. Pre-function and break-out spaces will "evoke" ocean waves with custom carpeting and lighting, as newly designed outdoor terraces provide panoramic bay views.
