The Joule has announced the debut of its revamped ballroom level, transformed by designer Adam D. Tihany of Tihany Design. The 10,200-square-foot flexible indoor event space is designed for corporate meetings, special events, galas and weddings.
Accessible via a private glass elevator on Main Street, the ballroom level located on the hotel’s second floor offers three meeting rooms, a pre-function space and three ballrooms, including:
- Mosaic Ballroom – The 3,400-square-foot space has modern airwalls that allow for custom configurations for up to 300 guests. Best for wedding receptions, general sessions or large events
- Fortnight Ballroom – This ballroom has nearly 3,400 square feet of historical columns, wall sconces, grand chandeliers and floor-to-ceiling views of downtown Dallas. Well-suited for corporate meetings, formal dinners and weddings up to 250 guests
- Praetorian Ballroom – This 1,680-square-foot space can be divided into two rooms and accommodate up to 120, but also connects to the Mosaic Ballroom and Ballroom Foyer for larger events. Can be used for wedding receptions, catering events and team workshops
- Pegasus Salon – This divisible room totaling 772 square feet with views of downtown Dallas and The Eye has space for up to 50 guests. Best for meetings, an event lounge and training sessions
- Dallas National – The 471-square-foot boardroom can accommodate up to 22 guests and features city views. Well-suited for breakout meetings, client presentations and board meetings
- Scholar Salon – The 471-square-foot boardroom can accommodate up to 22 guests. Best for hospitality suites, green rooms and small gatherings
The corridors, with floor-to-ceiling views of downtown, are upgraded with an iridescent wallcovering that is intercepted by handmade cork wallpaper in the pre-function space, while the ballroom is adorned with a luminous fabric.
Beyond the custom-designed chandeliers and furnishings are new culinary offerings. Inspired by celebrity green rooms, the “Build Your Own Rider Requirement'” allows guests to satisfy their sweet tooth with a candy bar, custom trail mix table and more. Other culinary packages include reception-style food stations with everything from traditional carving stations to a build-your-own poke bar. The ballroom level also has a custom coffee cart designed to serve coffee/espresso beverages from in-house and local-favorite shop, Weekend Coffee, and a satellite bar of The Joule’s cocktail bar, Midnight Rambler.
The ballroom level has large-scale mosaics by artist Millard Sheets. These were originally commissioned in the 1940s for downtown’s former Mercantile Building, but were salvaged from near demolition by hotel proprietor Tim Headington.
Located in downtown Dallas, The Joule offers more than 30,000 square feet of customizable indoor and outdoor space. In addition to the second-floor ballroom, The Joule is home to a rooftop Terrace, with a covered glass pavilion, as well as several penthouse suites. The Joule’s team of meeting and event and culinary team offer premium services, including personalized menu and cocktail planning. Technical offerings include integration of computer, video and audio equipment, an A/V system with dual retractable projectors, screens and touch-screen controls, along with onsite IT support.
