Hutton Brickyards reopened its doors on April 6, under the management of Waterford Hotel Group of Connecticut. The property recently underwent seasonal closure and received property-wide refurbishments.
Karl Slovin, owner of Hutton Brickyards and creator of the 100-acre events venue and hotel on the Hudson River in New York, began redeveloping the former brick manufacturing facility in 2016. He most recently added a second location to the expansive Hutton Brickyards property—an estate original to the site, Edgewood. The 1873 house underwent a complete restoration and now houses a kitchen and 12 guestrooms and suites.
Edgewood also holds a seasonal restaurant and an original oak bar and lounge/meeting space which can accommodate receptions, cocktail events and other special occasions. The mansion’s exterior has been restored, while the interior refresh has aimed to celebrate the historic house and its architectural details by highlighting them alongside a neutral color palette.
In May, Edgewood and Hutton Brickyards’ restaurant, The River Pavilion, will reopen to the public for Friday and Saturday dinner and bar service, along with Saturday and Sunday brunch on the river, both by reservation. Wood-fired ovens and grills are the centerpieces of the open-air restaurant located on the banks of the Hudson River.
Sprawled across more than 100 acres of rolling hills and meadows, with industrial structures soaring skyward along the Hudson River, Hutton Brickyards has a storied past. The property, located two hours from New York City, specializes in weddings and events of all sizes, including corporate retreats and festivals such as the much-loved “Field + Supply,” which is returning to Hutton Brickyards this year for its spring and fall makers’ fairs.
Hutton Brickyards offers a range of venues, with multiple accommodation styles to choose from, including individual cabin-style rooms and the Edgewood mansion guestrooms. There is something for every type of event layout, from the grand to the intimate, all set against the river.
Leisure and team-building activities available vary by season and include archery, hiking trails and bike paths, an outdoor gym, lawn games, group spa experiences, outdoor yoga, picnic spaces, fire pits and more. Wedding bookings in 2023 are full weekend, event venue buy-outs.
