Hotel La Compañía will officially open its doors in spring 2022 following the completion of a seven-year restoration project. Located in Panama City’s historic district of Casco Antiguo, this will be the first Central American hotel in The Unbound Collection by Hyatt portfolio.
Originally built in the 17th century as a Jesuit convent, the hotel is being restored to create a "living museum" where the history of Panama will be showcased through a bold and contemporary design concept. A UNESCO World Heritage Site, Hotel La Compañía is set in the historic district across the street from the 300-year-old Church of San Jose. The destination is popular for its restaurants, bars and cultural attractions.
The property has 88 guestrooms and suites, each individually designed to reflect the Spanish Colonial, French Colonial and Beaux Arts styles found throughout the hotel. Other facilities and amenities include multiple dining outlets, such as an all-day dining restaurant, a bistro and coffee bar, a family-style Italian restaurant and a steakhouse with an underground wine cellar dating back 300 years. There are multiple onsite entertainment options, including a sky bar and rooftop lounge, and a lobby lounge.
There are five function rooms for executive board meetings and group functions, along with the ability to use the ruins of the bordering historic church as a backdrop for any event. There is also a spa with four treatment rooms and a menu that features the Germaine de Capuccini product line from Spain; a sundeck featuring an infinity pool and 360-degree ocean and city views; and a curated collection of over 1,600 original photographs and custom works of art that adorn the guestrooms and public spaces throughout the property.
Deal: Guests who book stays between March 1 and May 31, 2022 can take advantage of the inaugural rate starting at $295 per night.
