Hotel Casa del Mar located on the beach in Santa Monica will soon open the Westside’s newest event and meeting venue, The Conservatory, designed by PHX Architecture. With floor-to-ceiling windows with views of the Pacific Ocean, the new space will offer an inviting waterfront setting.
Ideal for any intimate to medium sized event, the 1,750-square-foot enclave is enveloped on three sides with two-story glass. Completely private and set off the main lobby, the new space can accommodate up to 96 seated guests or up to 120 guests for a reception-style event.
The Conservatory is purposefully aligned with ocean research and conservation. To note: This new oceanfront venue has formed a strategic alliance with the Schmidt Ocean Institute to assist in amplifying their efforts toward oceanic research and education. Additionally, The Conservatory will offer customized menus for events alongside an eco-conscious menu consisting of selections from land and sea identified by conservationists as both wild and overly abundant.
In addition, Hotel Casa del Mar will partner with the Schmidt Ocean Institute on an event series and has identified both local and national charities slated to benefit from events at The Conservatory. Other charities that The Conservatory will support include The Bay Foundation and Philippe Cousteau’s organization EarthEcho International, among others.
Schmidt Ocean Institute was established in 2009 by Eric and Wendy Schmidt to catalyze the discoveries needed to understand the ocean, sustain life, and ensure the health of the planet through the pursuit of impactful scientific research, observation, technological advancement, open sharing of information, and public engagement.
