Glasgow Marriott Hotel has announced a comprehensive renovation project that includes a complete revamp of the public spaces, new facilities and contemporary styling.
A highlight of the 303-room hotel is the new Greatroom, which encompasses the reception area, lobby, a new lounge bar and the signature Cast Iron Grill restaurant. The reception desk is centered around a ceramic plate mural inspired by the city's ceramic industry. The mural, made of individually decorated plates, showcases key landmarks like the Finnieston Crane, SEC walkway, The Armadillo and the "squinty bridge." The hotel's Executive Lounge draws inspiration from the Nouveau Era and Glasgow’s engineering history, with geometric shapes and abstracted Glasgow maps in a tile layout.
Beyond this, all guestrooms will be part of the upgrade, with six additional spacious Junior Suites being created. There are 75 Executive Rooms that will benefit from access to the Marriott Hotel’s Executive Lounge. Additionally, the 10 meeting rooms will be enhanced, with project completion due in December 2024.
The guest experience is elevated with inspired artworks from the public areas through to bedrooms and meeting spaces, which display works that reflect Glasgow’s Architecture; all guest rooms sport pieces from Glasgow’s famous street murals on buildings.
Glasgow Marriott Hotel is well suited for incentive travel and meetings of all sizes. It has a conference and events space catering for up to 600 people with the ability to host large corporate and private events and awards dinners. Located in the city center’s financial district, the hotel is within easy access to many of the city’s leading attractions, world-famous music venues, lively shopping, nightlife and dining districts as well as the airport.
