Gaylord Pacific Resort & Convention Center to Debut This Spring

Gaylord Pacific Resort & Convention Center in Southern California has announced an opening date of May 15. Located 10 miles from San Diego International Airport on 36-acres of waterfront property in Chula Vista, Gaylord Pacific is the sixth resort to join the Gaylord Hotels portfolio. Overseen by RIDA Development, the $1.3-billion resort will offer 1,600 guestrooms, including 89 suites, a 4.25-acre outdoor water park, ocean views, 12 culinary venues and more than 477,000 square feet of meeting and event space.

Offering a combination of king or double queen beds, standard guestrooms will range from 389 to 623 square feet with a dedicated work area and mountain or bay views. Executive Suites will offer up to 838 square feet with a separate living room and bed, with the option to connect to a neighboring queen guestroom. The resort’s six Luxury Suites total 1,200 square feet of sleeping and living spaces. The 10 Presidential Suites and two Penthouse Presidential Suites are ideal for friends, family and group travel. The 3,254-square-foot Penthouse Presidential Suites include a private furnished balcony with views of the San Diego Bay, Coronado Island and Pacific Ocean, a living room complete with a dining table for up to eight, a kitchenette, bar and primary bedroom with a private dressing room and soaking tub.

The resort will offer 12 culinary experiences. Guests can watch sporting events on the 75-foot screen at Growler Sports Bar & Taproom, dine on freshly caught lobster at Old Hickory Steakhouse or enjoy craft cocktails and local breweries at Oeste, the atrium bar.

The resort also houses 477,000 square feet of indoor-outdoor space, including 135,000 square feet event lawns and terrace, 67 breakout rooms and four ballrooms. With large balconies off a variety of venues, including the Chula Vista Ballroom and Bayside Ballroom, in addition to the array of culinary offerings, the resort presents a flexible stage for a range of events and gatherings. Upon completion, the Gaylord Pacific will house the largest convention center of any hotel within the San Diego market as well as the largest ballroom with its California Ballroom & Exhibit Hall at 140,049 square feet.

Fit for all ages, The Gaylord Pacific Resort & Convention Center has a 4.25-acre water park with multiple pools, waterslides, lazy river, wave pool, and more. Bookable private cabanas will be available, along with ample poolside lounging and two pool bars. Other facilities include a Relâche Spa & Salon, 7,500-square-foot fitness center, and bicycle rentals for off-property excursions.
