Embassy Suites Washington DC Convention Center Adds Green Initiatives

Ahead of Earth Day on April 22, Embassy Suites by Hilton Washington D.C. Convention Center is strengthening its commitment to sustainability by unveiling its EV charging stations, bike rack, and an “Administrative Paperless Day.”

Guests with electric vehicles can visit the property with ease as the hotel has reserved three EV parking spots in the parking garage for use. The parking spots are also available for guests visiting Brickstones Kitchen & Bar, the onsite restaurant. Also new to the Embassy Suites is a bike rack being installed on April 21. Team members and visitors alike can park their bikes when visiting the hotel or restaurant for an upcoming stay.

The hotel will also celebrate sustainable practices with an “Administrative Paperless Day” on April 21. All team members in the executive offices on this day will not print or copy paper.

These new initiatives join Embassy Suites’ already established green practices. Guests who stay on property are offered paperless check-in and checkout through Hilton’s Digital Key, available for all Hilton Honors guests. This technology allows Hilton Honors members to choose their room, check-in and checkout, and use their phone as their room key, removing any paper from checking in and plastic from the traditional key cards. Additionally, starting next month, the hotel will be 100 percent carbon neutral for its electricity load.
