Austin's AT&T Hotel and Conference Center to Modernize Meeting Space

The AT&T Hotel and Conference Center in Austin, TX, has announced a $30 million renovation aimed at enhancing both the guest and conference experience. Set to begin in spring 2025, the project will focus on modernizing the hotel’s meeting space, spanning more than 85,000 square feet.

The renovation is timed to coincide with the upcoming closure of Austin’s convention center in late spring 2025. Following the update, the hotel will offer “campus-style mini wides” in collaboration with its partner hotels in the University Hotel Collection. Serving as a cornerstone of the University of Texas community, the hotel will additionally integrate historical elements with modern design, ensuring it remains a welcoming space for alumni, visitors and conference attendees alike.

The AT&T Hotel and Conference Center’s new design esthetic will embrace a “Contemporary Texan” style. Key design and technology upgrades include:

  • A new junior ballroom, expanding the hotel’s event capabilities within its 85,000-plus square feet of meeting space
  • Advanced audio-visual technology, including beamforming microphones for high-tech meetings and conferences
  • Refreshed foyers that bring in more natural light

The renovation will be led by Texas-based Lake Flato, in collaboration with interior design firm Waldrop + Nichols Studio.

The renovation of the conference facilities will be completed by summer 2025. The hotel and conference center will remain open throughout the renovation.
