Destinations International and PCMA have announced that registration is open for the 35th annual edition of Destination Showcase, which connects business events strategists and convention and visitors bureaus (CVBs) to drive successful meetings and events. The event will be held on March 25, 2022 at the Gaylord National Resort and Convention Center in National Harbor, MD.
Destinations International and PCMA entered a joint venture for Destination Showcase in 2019 with an aim to grow and expand with more partners and events so customers could maximize their time together. The reimagined event will convene business events strategists, associations, corporations, industry suppliers and destination organization professionals from around the world to safely get back to business, network with colleagues and develop a plan for the future of the business events industry.
Don Welsh, president and CEO of Destinations International, said in a press note, “For the 35th year, we look forward to bringing together the entire meetings and events industry together to safely celebrate the power business events bring to communities around the world.”
“Since 2019 we have been on an exciting journey to bring business event strategists and destinations together,” said Sherrif Karamat, CAE, president and CEO of PCMA. “It’s the destinations that really help deliver on a successful event and bring it to life, and we very much look forward to hosting a safe and impactful Destination Showcase.”
The event coincides with the inaugural Business Events Industry Week (March 23-25, 2022). Other industry events that will coincide with Business Events Industry Week include: Destinations International’s Convention Sales and Services Summit (March 23), and a series of PCMA leadership meetings; IAEE’s Women’s Leadership Forum (March 24); and The PCMA Foundation Visionary Awards (March 24).
