IMEX, Isla Launch New Events Carbon-Tracking Toolkit

Research shows that half of the world’s largest companies are already committed to reaching net zero. The target of for all nations to achieve net zero by 2050, as agreed at the UN Climate Change Conference (COP21), is edging ever closer, making consistent and standardized ways to measure sustainability efforts essential in order to benchmark progress and share success in a way that’s meaningful and accessible for all. A new toolkit, to be launched by isla and IMEX, meets this need specifically for meeting and event planners, providing clear advice and guidance on the what, why and how of sustainability measurement. The Event Carbon Measurement Starter Pack, created in partnership with TRACE by isla and IMEX, is designed to share essential carbon measurement principles and the practical steps needed to reduce an event’s carbon footprint.

The free starter pack, available from September 4 on the TRACE website, will provide clear guidance on why, what and how to measure carbon emissions, simplifying the process for event professionals; include actionable advice and practical tips for reducing the carbon footprint of events; and empower event professionals with the knowledge and tools to implement carbon measurement strategies and navigate the path to net zero.

IMEX and TRACE will explore the Event Carbon Measurement Starter Pack further at IMEX America, taking place October 8-10 at Mandalay Bay Las Vegas, to help planners understand how to adopt and adapt the toolkit to their events.

Good to know: The digital Starter Pack will be available to download at isla’s booth where attendees can discuss their carbon measurement obstacles and questions with experts. The TRACE team will also host sessions exploring the principles and practices of carbon measurement: what to measure, how to measure, what to do with the results. They’ll also provide important updates on the emerging legislation organizations need to consider if they want to get ahead of the curve.

The Event Carbon Measurement Starter Pack will be available at www.traceyour.events starting September 4, 2024. To join the waitlist, visit www.traceyour.events/event-carbon-measurement-starter-pack.
