Finland’s last restrictions on events will end at the end of September and business events are given the go-ahead to resume from Friday, October 1.
Here’s what you need to know:
Starting October 1, all restrictions on events will be lifted; however, the general hygiene requirements still apply to ensure the health and safety of customers and participants. In addition, restaurant operations continue to be restricted regionally by government decree.
General hygiene requirements:
- Customers have access to wash their hands and/or hand sanitizer is made available
- Customers are provided with sufficient instructions on how to maintain adequate distance, wash hands and other similar practices that prevent the spread of the infection
- The cleaning of facilities and surfaces is intensified
- Adequate social distancing measures are considered in space planning and catering services
“Now that Finland officially reopens, we can’t wait to welcome organizers and delegates back again for safe and successful meetings and events. We’re looking forward to seeing you soon again,” the Finland Convention Bureau said in a press statement.
As for travel to Finland, business event attendees should check the Visit Finland website for the latest requirements. Non-essential travel to Finland from outside the European Union and Schengen Area is not possible unless you are fully vaccinated or are arriving from a low-risk country (which the United States is not considered).
Currently, according to The New York Times, 75 percent of the population is at least partially vaccinated, with 62 percent fully vaccinated.
