Three New and Revamped Event Spaces in the Caribbean

Meeting planners will soon be able to take advantage of a number of new and newly renovated meeting and event spaces in the Caribbean

This month Malliouhana, Auberge Resorts Collection in Anguilla reopened with a new look and a new space for small events. Situated just off the lobby, the new venue is aimed at small gatherings and C-suite retreats, and it has a capacity of up to 60 people.

The renovations also increased the resort’s room count form 46 to 63, adding new ocean-facing rooms and a new, two-bedroom beachfront villa. Also new is Leon’s at Mead’s Bay, a new beach shack serving classic Caribbean dishes, as well as a new bar in the center of the resort’s signature restaurant, Café Celeste. Finally, the Auberge Spa has been expanded with six new treatment rooms and a new pool overlooking the ocean.

Looking ahead, a two-resort complex in St. Thomas in the U.S. Virgin Islands is set to open next year with some larger spaces for meeting planners. The $200-million-plus project will comprise the return of Frenchman’s Reef Marriott Resort & Spa and the new Noni Beach, a St. Thomas Resort, which will be part of Marriott’s Autograph Collection

Frenchman’s Reef will have 85,000 square feet of indoor and outdoor event space, plus 384 guestrooms, including 28 suites. The resort, which will be set atop a harbor-side cliff with ocean views, will also have three pools, including an infinity-edge pool with a swim-up bar, as well as a spa.

Noni Beach Resort will have a 3,000-square-foot beachfront ballroom along with 94 guestrooms in a series of beach-house style villas, all set directly on the beach. Groups will also be able to take advantage of a beachfront infinity-edge pool with a swim-up bar and a number of dining venues, including Coco’s Beach Club, serving Caribbean-casual cuisine.
