Managed by Pivot Hotels & Resorts, Hotel Viking in Newport, RI, has unveiled extensive renovations to its 13,610 square feet of meeting and event spaces, destination Spa Fjör, fitness center and indoor lap pool.
The 208-room property’s conference rooms and larger event spaces received new carpeting, drapery, wall coverings and lighting. Additionally, the outdoor courtyard has been expanded to increase capacity for alfresco functions. In total, there is more than 3,000 square feet of outdoor event space, including Top of Newport rooftop bar and on-site restaurant One Bellevue’s garden patio.
Hotel Viking’s remodeled indoor pool now offers three new spacious cabanas available for reservation. The pool has transitioned to saline from chlorine, and has been retiled, resurfaced and refinished with new anti-slip decking. Pool facilities, including bathrooms, have also undergone a transformation to include a modern and sleek design. Good to know: Adjacent to the pool, the property’s revamped fitness center now offers state-of-the-art Matrix equipment, and two Peloton bikes.
Hotel Viking’s Spa Fjör has also undergone significant renovations to now offer six treatment rooms and an expanded relaxation room with an impressive centerpiece, a 12 foot-by-7 foot Himalayan sea salt wall, which is believed to have healing powers for the mind, body and spirit. In addition to introducing new design elements, Spa Fjör is offering new treatments, such as a signature CBD-infused treatment called the “Spa Fjör Synergy Massage,” an 80-minute experience that combines the ancient art of cupping, Lomi Lomi massage, Thai stretching and sound therapy with tuning forks
In celebration of the completed renovations, Hotel Viking is offering groups new wellness-centered breakouts and amenities. Highlights include a “Sound Healing Break,” utilizing sound therapy ideal for calming the mind, an “Aroma Journey” breakout in which the group can learn about the benefits of aromatherapy and how to incorporate into their daily life and “Scrubologoy 101,” in which the spa’s resident "scrubologist" will work to create personalized body scrubs for each guest.
