AIME Cancels 2021 Event Due To COVID-19 Implications

Asia Pacific Incentives and Meetings Event (AIME) has cancelled its 2021 event, which was scheduled to be hosted in-person at the Melbourne Convention and Exhibition Centre as well as online in March, due to continued concerns brought about by the COVID-19 pandemic.

Event organizers Talk2 Media & Events have shared that, like many other event organizers, the event faced challenges brought about by international and domestic travel restrictions despite healthy interest for the event from exhibitors and buyers.

Stats: 73% of Event Planners Expect Hybrid Events to Be More Common in the Future

Event planners increasingly expect hybrid events to be more common in future and fewer think that the popularity is temporary, according to recent research by etc.venues. In fact, 73 percent of event planners now think hybrid events will continue to be more common in the future—up from 67 percent when asked in May—while those who think this is just a temporary trend have gone down accordingly by 6 percent.

Fort Worth Convention Center, Will Rogers Memorial Center Receive GBAC Star Facility Accreditation

The Fort Worth Convention Center (FWCC) and the Will Rogers Memorial Center (WRMC) have received the STAR Facility accreditation status from the Global Biorisk Advisory Council (GBAC), an outbreak prevention, response and recovery accreditation for facilities.

Visit Florida Opens Registration For Florida Huddle 2021

Visit Florida has opened registration for Florida Huddle, the official travel trade show for the state of Florida, which will take place virtually February 8 – 12, 2021. 

The week-long virtual event will include a mix of virtual networking opportunities, educational sessions and interactive experiences. In addition, one-on-one appointments will be scheduled per market on one day of the event. American buyers will have the opportunity to take up to 14 one-on-one appointments on Thursday, February 11. Qualified buyers can attend for free.

Cvent, BWH Hotel Group Sign 10-Year Tech Agreement to Drive Business Transient Growth

Cvent, a meetings, events and hospitality technology provider, and BWH Hotel Group have  announced a 10-year agreement for Cvent Transient solutions. Under the agreement, BWH Hotel Group will use Cvent’s transient sourcing platform to set and promote corporate hotel rates and manage RFPs from the world’s largest corporations for more than 4,700 properties worldwide.

VisitBritain has announced that its flagship annual travel trade event ExploreGB will run as a virtual event in 2021. ExploreGB Virtual, taking place from March 1-5, 2021, will invite international buyers to connect online with travel trade suppliers from across the UK to do business and boost bookings.

Attendance is free with registrations set to open from mid-December.
