The Los Angeles Convention Center (LACC), owned by the City of Los Angeles and managed by ASM Global, has announced that the facility has been awarded LEED certification at the Gold level for existing buildings operations and maintenance for the third time. LEED (Leadership in Energy and Environmental Design), developed by the U.S. Green Building Council (USGBC), is the most widely used green building rating system in the world and an international symbol of excellence.
Three U.S. Airports Achieve GBAC STAR Accreditation
Three U.S. airports have received GBAC STAR facility accreditation from The Global Biorisk Advisory Council (GBAC), a Division of ISSA. They are: Dallas Fort Worth (DFW) International Airport (the first airport in the world to earn the accreditation), Palm Beach International Airport in West Palm Beach, FL, and John Glenn Columbus International Airport in Columbus, OH.
Los Angeles Tourism & Convention Board Names Adam Burke President and CEO
Los Angeles Tourism & Convention Board (Los Angeles Tourism), the official destination marketing organization for the City of Los Angeles, announced that its board of directors has appointed Adam Burke as president and CEO, removing his interim title. Burke will be responsible for ensuring the achievement of the organization’s mission, which is to leverage the economic power of tourism to improve the quality of life for all Angelenos.
New Facilities in the U.S. Earn GBAC STAR Accreditation
Several convention centers and lodging facilities across the United States have recently secured GBAC STAR facility accreditation from the Global Biorisk Advisory Council (GBAC), a division of ISSA. By providing third-party validation, GBAC STAR’s 20-step, performance-based program helps facilities of all sizes establish and maintain an effective system of cleaning, disinfection, and infection prevention.
