Travel Coalition, Executives Call on Congress to Pass Relief Legislation

Last week week, a coalition of almost 200 travel, hotel, franchise, and state and local government groups called for Congress to not go on recess without providing relief for sectors devastated by the coronavirus pandemic. In addition, a group of 17 CEOS of the largest U.S. travel companies sent a statement to leaders in Washington, pleading to advance a subsequent round of legislative relief from the economic fallout of the COVID-19 (coronavirus) pandemic.

American, Delta Follow United, Get Rid of Change Fees

United Airlines is permanently getting rid of change fees all standard Economy and Premium cabin tickets for travel within the U.S., effective immediately, it announced over the weekend. Now, American Airlines and Delta are following suit, the airlines announced individually on Monday.

Major U.S. Airlines Announce Health Acknowledgment Requirement

This week, Airlines for America (A4A), the industry trade organization representing the leading U.S. airlines, announced that its member carriers are voluntarily implementing temporary health acknowledgment policies and procedures for passenger travel as an additional level of mitigation to prevent the spread of coronavirus (COVID-19). Health acknowledgments are another important way passengers can "fly smart" and do their part to help prevent the spread.

U.S. Airlines Endorse Temperature Screenings Conducted by TSA

Airlines for America (A4A) announced over the weekend that its member carriers are supporting the Transportation Security Administration (TSA) to begin checking the temperature of the traveling public and customer-facing employees as long as necessary during the COVID-19 (coronavirus) public health crisis.
