Canada to Host Europe Events Roadshow

Destination Canada’s Business Events Canada team (BEC), which is charged with growing Canada’s share of international business events, and their partners, are set to return to Europe next month for their annual roadshows designed to promote the country’s meeting, conventions and incentive travel offerings to local meetings and incentive planners.

The events in the UK and Belgium will provide attendees with networking opportunities and advice on holding business events in Canada while helping them get up to speed with all the latest news and developments, from technological advances to new hotels, venues and incentive travel options.

The first event will be held in London at 5.30 pm on Tuesday, September 17, at Canada House, and the second event will be held in Brussels at 6.00 pm on Wednesday September 18, at Les Ateliers des Tanneurs. The functions will also put a spotlight on technologies, one of the seven economic sectors at the heart of Business Events Canada’s strategy. Ryan Holowaty, COO of Noodlecake Studios, the indie game publisher and developers of the Super Stickman Golf series, will join the events as keynote speaker.

As part of a new strategy, Business Events Canada will be incorporating a new partnership with the Professional Convention Management Association (PCMA) at this year’s Canada Week and it will be hosting “PCMA Knowledge Exchanges” to deliver business event education to the local audiences in London and Brussels. Additionally, the team will also be conducting presentations to a number of top Incentive buyers and professional conference organizers at both locations.
